Introduction to Pole Workshop

For fitness, fun, or both, pole dancing has become a well sought after fitness mode and art form! Come join Melina McCormick for a gentle introduction to the pole fitness world. Elements draw from dance, pilates, yoga, and explorative movement. Pole is for EVERY BODY! Come as you are, you need no prior dance or fitness experience. Melina will lead you through a warm-up and introduce you to the fundamental vocabulary of pole movement.
Meet Melina. Dance has been a part of Melina’s life from a very young age. She comes from a family of performers and thrives on stage. She was originally trained in ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop. Her teaching career began at age 17 and she has been teaching consistently for the past 10 years. She found pole, chair, and twerk in 2011. Once she discovered her love for these styles she quickly found herself in an instructor position so that she could better help other navigate and grow in that community. Melina currently works as an instructor under Sergia Louise Anderson at The Vertitude Santa Rosa. Above all, Melina believes in the healing and unifying power of movement and loves spending her time helping others find the joy that dance can bring.
