EARLY BIRD SPECIAL ENDS THIS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH
TRAINING BEGINS MARCH 3, 2018
Breath is central to yoga because it is central to life . . . and yoga is about life. – T. Krishnamacharya
about our program
This program offers the experience of yoga from the ancient traditions and applying this timeless practice to present life—tools for the beginner, the seasoned, and the seeker. The intent of these tools is health, mental clarity, spiritual growth, and sustained joy for the individual. Wow!
Yoga is based on Patanjali’s YogaSutras, the authoritative source of all yoga texts. This course will be based on the sutras with Sri Krishnamacharya’s fundamental principle: that yoga must always be adapted to an individual’s changing needs in order to derive the maximum therapeutic benefit…and with the statement from his son, Sri Desikachar: “Start where you are.” We will use the sutra translations of TKV Desikachar. The strength and heart of this course is based on this lineage—passed down from father to son and beyond.
To know yoga is to experience yoga with a teacher, a sangha (community), and a personal practice. We will use all three in this intense 200-hour study.
Completion of Tone’s 16 hour Clay Anatomy Intensive – priced separately OR proof of completion of anatomy courses with completion of a proficiency test.
The required books cost approximately $150 and are not included in program cost. They will be available to purchase at Tone. Additional books may be assigned during the course ($50 budget).
